Pressfront API · Common questions
Is there an MCP server for monitoring what people say about a name or a story?
Pressfront’s MCP server at https://pressfront.co/api/mcp (streamable HTTP) gives Claude, Cursor or any MCP client 24 tools: an instant check of an X or Bluesky name, traces of a name or a story going around, and reads of every account, post and group in them. claude.ai connects with Sign in with Pressfront; everything else sends a key.
Of 187 accounts, 135 were critical and 17 supportive. It started with their own Oct 21 post (388 replies). The jump came when @gravelmouth quoted it: 54 accounts arrived in the next 40 minutes, against 4 before.
14 accounts posted within 4 minutes of each other. That is a timing match, not proof anyone coordinated. Want the posts?
The demo trace: invented accounts, the real tool answers.
Claude Code, one line (make the key in Settings):
claude mcp add --transport http pressfront https://pressfront.co/api/mcp \
--header "Authorization: Bearer pf_live_YOUR_KEY"claude.ai (or the Claude app): Settings, Connectors, Add custom connector, paste https://pressfront.co/api/mcp, Connect. Sign in with Pressfront and press Allow. No key needed: OAuth 2.1 with PKCE and dynamic client registration. It reads only, unless you tick the box to let it start traces.
ChatGPT: make a GPT, open Actions, Import from URL: https://pressfront.co/api/v1/openapi.json. Authentication: API key, Bearer.
Cursor, Claude Desktop and others: the config files are on /developers.
Every REST endpoint is also a tool, with the same name in openapi.json.

“Who is posting about @name right now?”, “where did the story that Lara went partying start?”, “who carried it?”, “show me the critical posts from the biggest accounts”, “has @someone come at me before?” The AI picks the tool. It reads X and Bluesky first, plus Reddit, forums, archives and other sites we read; public posts only.
tools on one MCP address. Connecting and listing them is free; each tool call counts as one API call, 60 a minute per key.
Not unless you let it. A claude.ai connection reads only, unless you tick the box on the Allow screen. A read-only key can never start traces or watch names. Disconnect any time in Settings.
Your traces (every account and post in them), your alerts and the names you watch. Never your password or payment details.
The server tells the AI to quote posts rather than label people. Sides are read by a language model and every answer says so. Pressfront never decides who is right.
The MCP server comes with Trace at $149 a month. Connecting and listing tools is free; each tool call counts as one API call. Pay per call on the Apify Store (Monid listing on the way): $0.49 an instant check, $4.99 a trace, $0.05 a read.
Yes. Send the public demo key pf_live_DemoKeyForPressfrontTraceSample1 as a Bearer header. It reads one invented trace and cannot start traces.
