What press release distribution actually is

A press release is a short, factual announcement written in news style. Distribution is the act of pushing it through wire services and syndication partners so it appears on hundreds of news, finance and regional sites at once. Each copy is a real page on a real domain, indexed by Google, and increasingly the raw material AI answer engines pull from when someone asks about your company.

It is not a journalist choosing to write about you. That's earned media, it takes months, and nobody can guarantee it. Distribution is the part you can actually buy: the story, in your words, on sites people and machines already trust.

Why the wire you pick matters

The cheap end of the market puts your release on a few hundred clone sites nobody reads, then calls it "syndication". The expensive end charges by the word and by the region, so a national release with a logo runs $1,500 to $3,000 before anyone writes a sentence.

Pressfront sits in the middle on price and at the top on proof. Standard ($199) goes out across a 300+ site network indexed by Google and picked up by AI. Advanced ($799) adds the six outlets we're willing to name in writing: Yahoo Finance, Business Insider, AP News, MarketWatch, Street Insider and Morningstar, each delivered as its own live URL. If one of those is missing from your report, that outlet's portion is refunded.

What you get, exactly

  • A written release. Drafted from a ten-minute intake, or we edit the one you bring. You approve it before anything moves.
  • Distribution. Standard: 300+ sites. Advanced: the six named outlets plus a 500+ premium financial and news network, on top of the Standard reach.
  • A coverage report. Every live URL, in one place, at delivery. This is the document you show a customer, an investor, or a bank.
  • Optional AP News + US papers add-on (+$299). AP News plus a feature across the USA TODAY Network of 100+ real daily newspapers.

What it does for you afterwards

Three things, in order of how fast they show up. First, brand search: when someone Googles your company name, the first page fills with news results instead of a lonely homepage. Second, "as seen on": real logos with real links behind them, on your site, in your deck, in your email signature. Third, AI discoverability: ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity build their answers from third-party pages that describe you. A release on the sites they read gives them a clear, consistent story to find.

We don't promise rankings, traffic, or that an AI will name you. Nobody controls that. We promise the placements, the links, and the report.

How it works

  1. Tell us the storyA short intake: what you're announcing, who you are, where people should click. Ten minutes.
  2. Approve the draftWe write the release (or use yours) and send it for approval. Nothing goes out until you say so.
  3. Get the reportDistribution runs, links go live, and every URL lands in one coverage report you can point to.

Who this is for

A good fit

  • A launch, funding round, hire, partnership, award, or milestone worth announcing
  • A company that needs "as seen on" credibility fast, without a PR retainer
  • Founders and marketers who want a fixed price and a document at the end
  • Anyone building the third-party footprint AI engines and Google look for

Not a fit

  • You want a journalist to independently cover you (that's earned media, months, no guarantees)
  • You need dofollow SEO links (wire links are nofollow, by policy, everywhere)
  • You have nothing to announce yet (we can help you find the angle, but there has to be one)
  • Crypto or legal content that needs Yahoo Finance specifically (outlet policy excludes it)

Straight answers

How much does press release distribution cost?

Pressfront has two fixed one-time prices. Standard is $199 and distributes your release across a 300+ site network with a coverage report of live URLs. Advanced is $799 and adds six outlets guaranteed by name, Yahoo Finance, Business Insider, AP News, MarketWatch, Street Insider and Morningstar, plus a 500+ premium network. An optional AP News and US newspapers add-on is $299. There is no retainer, subscription, or sales call.

Is press release distribution the same as getting press coverage?

No. Distribution places your announcement, in your words, on news and syndication sites through wire partners. Press coverage means a journalist independently decides to write about you. Distribution is fast, fixed-price and guaranteeable; coverage is slow and never guaranteed by anyone honest. Distribution is often what earns the credibility that leads to coverage later.

Which sites will my press release appear on?

On Standard, a rotating 300+ site network of news, finance and regional sites indexed by Google, with every live URL captured in your report; no single site is individually guaranteed. On Advanced, six outlets are named and guaranteed in writing: Yahoo Finance, Business Insider, AP News, MarketWatch, Street Insider and Morningstar, plus a wider premium network that commonly includes Benzinga, Markets Insider, Investopedia and Apple News.

How long does distribution take?

Standard delivers in 2 to 5 business days and Advanced in 5 to 14 business days. The clock starts when you approve the draft, not when you pay, because nothing goes out until you've signed off on the wording. Your coverage report is sent when all placements are live, so you get one complete document rather than a trickle of partial links.

Do you write the press release?

Yes, writing is included in both packages. You fill in a short intake covering what you're announcing, who you are and where readers should go, and we draft the release in standard news format with a headline, dateline, quote and boilerplate. You review and approve it, or supply your own release and we edit it for wire compliance.

Will this help my business show up in ChatGPT and Google?

It helps in the way that's actually within anyone's control: it puts accurate, consistent descriptions of your business on the third-party sites Google indexes and AI answer engines read. Those engines recommend businesses that credible outside pages describe. We can't promise a specific ranking or that an AI will name you, and we don't. Honest fine print, because it matters: these are press-release distribution and syndication placements, not independent editorial coverage or a journalist writing about you. Outlet names describe where a release can appear or syndicate, based on relevance and each outlet's policies; they are not endorsements. Links are nofollow (the wires' standard policy) and still build brand-search visibility, "as seen on" credibility, and AI discoverability. Exact placements vary by story and availability. Our guarantee covers distribution, live links and a report, or your money back, not rankings, traffic, permanence, or AI citation, which no honest service can promise.
